Unitech Industrial Advisory Board

The Unitech Industrial Advisory Board was formed as a result of the University’s drive towards continuous improvement and international accreditation of its Engineering and Science Programs.

THE PNG University of Technology achieved yet another milestone when it convened the first meeting for the Industrial Advisory Board for its Engineering and Science Programs on Monday, 20th July 2015.

Vice Chancellor, Dr. Albert Schram stated at the opening of the board meeting that the installation of the board is significant as it will drive continuous improvement in the university’s mission critical areas of teaching, research and outreach.

Industrial Advisory Board terms of references(ToR)

The Unitech Engineering and Science Advisory Board will be able to:

  1. provide external counsel to the Departments of Engineering and Science in support of their teaching, research and service missions;
  2. Assist in strengthening financial support for the Engineering and Science programs at Unitech;
  3. Promote the Engineering and Science programs at Unitech to potential employers, government agencies, students, business and industry;
  4. Offer advice to the Heads of Engineering and Science departments on strategies and means of developing resources for enhancing the goals of their departments;
  5. Enhance the visibility of the major research and instructional programs of Unitech’s Engineering and Science; and
  6. Facilitate industrial support for Unitech short courses and master classes in Engineering and Science.

The Unitech Advisory Board is composed of executive level industry representatives from leading companies in PNG and the world and is chaired by ExxonMobil Engineering Manager, Mr Jeff Ralston with Mr Ila Mari, President of the Institute of Engineers PNG as his Deputy.
