KMHL SPONSORS K100,000 FOR 7TH NATIONAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE

Kumul Mineral Holding Ltd (KMHL) is proud to be a Platinum Sponsor of the 7th National Science and Technology Conference which will be hosted by the PNG University of Technology (PNGUoT) from the 1st – 4th of July, 2024.

PNGUoT’s Pro Vice Chancellor (Administration), Professor Kaul Gena, who is also one of KMHL’s Director said, “KMHL is a nationally owned company and is pleased to showcase new knowledge generation, through research to be showcased in such international conference” .

The 7th National Science and Technology Conference will be jointly staged by The PNG Science and Technology Council Secretariat and PNG University of Technology, with the support of the Department of National Planning and Monitoring (DNPM).

This annual conference brings together practicing scientists, researchers, students, would – be researchers, research leaders, research administrators and policy – makers to gather, inform, exchange information and experiences, and explore opportunities in the different disciplines of scientific work taking place in the country.

This sponsorship falls under  KMHL’s corporate responsibility to work with Institution who are in the fore front of cutting- edge research and impacting society through transfer of technological knowledge.

The conference will be effective as it will have both local and international keynote speakers and researchers to present their papers as well, therefore, this sponsorship falls under the company’s social obligation funding, Professor Gena added.

Conference Chairperson Dr Veronica Bue, and Deputy Chairperson Mr. Russell Harada were both present to receive Platinum Sponsor from KMHL.

Dr Veronica Bue gladly thanked KMHL for coming on board as the platinum sponsor for the conference.

KMHL assisting with K100,000.00 is a huge help for the organizing committee because the committee will be able to meet some of its immediate needs to prepare for the conference”, added Dr Bue.

Russell Harada, also thanked KMHL for the platinum leap into the conference.

“KMHL is now seen to be the only platinum sponsor for this conference and we hope to get more sponsors in the coming weeks. Plus, we have to use this money wisely and acquit accordingly as this money allocated to us for this conference is public funds”, said Mr. Harada.

“Everybody needs to register to attend the conference as there will be no free riders to the conference”, Mr. Harada emphasized.

Dr. Bue added, “The editorial sub-committee has already secured an agreement with an international Conference Proceedings Publisher to publish the conference proceedings. The online publication of the conference proceedings will add more value to the research work presented during the conference and will be accessible to the rest of the world. This step will bring more credibility to the conference which enhances the international and national researchers’ confidence in the conference.”
