"Clutch Masters", 2024 Technofest Competition Winner

Tuesday, 28/08/2024: The SRS hosted Technofest Competition where different schools compete against each other from their respective Faculties to find innovative solutions to address issues in their communities.
 
From the Faculty of Engineering, the School of Mechanical Engineering’s “Clutch Masters” Team won first place for their “Design of a Seed-sowing and Weed-removal Machine“. The team is comprised of the following students:

School of Mechanical Engineering Guest Lecture 2: Ms. Julieth Jiap

The School of Mechanical Engineering have once again hosted its second guest lecture series for this year yesterday (26th of March 2024). SLT was packed to capacity by the mechanical engineering students from year 1 to 4 as well as some academic staff member of the school. Ms. Julieth Jiap is a Project Engineer, currently managing the Redevelopment of Lae Main Market (an AUSAID, ESIP project), as introduced by the Deputy Head of School Dr. Jack Khallahle, who was very pivotal in securing guest lecturers from the industrial sectors for the school this year. Ms. Jiap was speaking to the students on Project Management, an information session on the essential elements of project management a project engineer needed to know.
