Bachelor of Arts in Communication for Development

The Department offers a four-year degree program which leads to a Bachelor of Arts in Communication for Development
Candidates who are admitted into Degree programme should meet one of the following entrance requirements:
- Students who have attained a Grade 12 School Certificate with minimum B grade in English, or
- Students who have passed an Adult Matriculation course with minimum B grade in English, or
- Mature experienced students may be admitted on the recommendation of the Head of Department. They will normally be expected to hold a Grade 10 Certificate with minimum Credit grade in English, plus a post-secondary certificate from a course of at least two years duration, plus a total of at least five years service as a development, liaison, public relations or personnel officer.
All students enrolled in the Communication for Development programme should initially register for the Degree course.
Entry into the program is at Grade 12 (PNG Higher School Certificate) or equivalent level with a
- Minimum grade ‘B’ or better in L&L or AE, ‘C’ or better in any one of the following Geography, Economics, Maths B, Business Studies, History, Legal Studies and ‘C’ grade in Maths (A). Intake Quota: SL- 30 + NSL-15 +INTL- 5
All students enrolled in the degree programme are required to undertake field training during second and third years. Field training in second year involves working on the University Farm one day each week in both semesters; industrial training in third year is undertaken for a full semester
