A total of 13 students graduated with Diplomas under the School of Humanities. Twelve students completed their studies in Business Studies, and one student graduated in Communication for Development Studies.

SUSU is a branch campus of the Papua New Guinea University of Technology (PNGUoT), set up to bring higher education closer to the people of Simbu Province and nearby areas. It mainly offers Diploma programs in Business Studies and Communication for Development Studies.

During the ceremony, Pro Vice Chancellor Administration Professor  Kaul Gena announced that starting next year,  the university will be phasing out the diploma programs, however the students will still have the option to apply and study for the online degree programs.

He congratulated the students for their hard work and urged them to use their education to help develop their communities.

Professor Gena also called on the Simbu Provincial Government to support the students by funding tuition fees. He said investing in education is important to achieve Papua New Guinea’s Vision 2050 goals.

“We must invest in our young people. Supporting their education is the only way we can achieve the Vision 2050 for Papua New Guinea,” Professor Gena said.

Meanwhile, the Keynote Speaker, Simbu Provincial Education Advisor Kutna Bepwick praised PNGUoT for establishing the Satellite University in Simbu .

“We thank PNGUoT for bringing this Satellite University to Simbu. It has made a big difference by giving our students a chance to study here at home, without the cost and burden of going out of the province,” the Education Advisor said.
