Staff Housing and Property Manager
The position is based at the Estates and Services Department’s building within the PNG University of Technology – Taraka campus in Lae.
The Estates & Services Department oversees the following functions of the University: Maintenance of University’s Properties, Staff’s Housing & Grounds and Stores & Transport. Each of those functions are managers by three portfolio managers: Maintenance Manager, Housing and Property Manager and Stores & Transport Manager
Primary Responsibilities
The Staff’s Housing and Property Manager is responsible for overseeing the administrative functions and operations of the Housing and Property division and Grounds.
- Oversee the management of staff housing facilities and properties, ensuring staff accommodations are fully equipped in accordance with contract conditions.
- Maintain an accurate asset registry and oversee housing maintenance and landscaping services.
- Serve as Executive Officer to the Housing Committee, preparing agendas and implementing approved decisions.
- Coordinate staff housing allocations, movements and liaise with relevant departments on rental, bonds, and temporary accommodations.
- Administer and ensure Staff’s compliance with the University’s Housing Policy and Tenancy Agreements.
- Provide recommendations for policy improvements and oversee implementation of approved amendments.
- Ensure timely execution of directives from senior management, including the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Admin) and Executive Director of HR.
- Perform any other duties as directed by the Head of Department or the University Management.
Qualification & Experience
- A Master’s degree or Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years experiences in Property Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in property management or a related field within a reputed organization.
Conditions of Service
- Senior Assistant Registrar I/II PGK53,147 – PGK74,126 per annum
- Domestic Market Allowance PGK8,681 – PGK16,026 per annum
(Level of appointment depends upon qualification and experience)
